General Questions
YMCA Learn is the online learning platform for YMCA BC's online programs and courses.
YMCA BC Learn is completely free to sign up for! Some courses are fee-based, however, many are free to take, including our Child Care and Resource and Referral courses.
Click the "Sign Up for Free" button on the home page banner.
Fill out your information and click "Sign Up"
Alternatively, click "Sign In" on the upper right corner and then "Create a New Account"
Go to your profile in the upper right corner and click "My Account." On the left sidebar, click "Password." Choose your new password, input your current password, and click "Update."
YMCA BC Learn is YMCA BC's online learning platform that expands access to sought-after programing, helping people to grow, thrive, and reach their full potential, and strengthening our communities both locally and nationally.
At launch, YMCA BC Learn offers our Child Care Resource & Referral (CCRR) continuing education credits, as well as the Responsible Adult accreditation course to support caregivers, educators, and anyone looking to build skills that make a difference in children's lives. As we move forward in 2026, the platform will expand to include healthy living and leadership development programs.
YMCA Ignite is now run by the YMCA of the Greater Toronto Area.
Account transfers from YMCA Ignite to YMCA BC Learn
If you had started the course, but did not complete it, your account will have been transferred from YMCA Ignite to YMCA BC Learn, and you will have been re-enrolled in the course. However, your progress was not transferred and you will need to start from the beginning.
If you had completed a Child Care & Resource Referral course or the Responsible Adult course, your account will be transferred and you can access your certificate(s) on YMCA BC Learn. You will not have been enrolled in any courses.
Your YMCA Ignite account will not have been transferred to YMCA BC Learn. You can create an account on YMCA BC Learn here: https://ymcabc-learn.thinkific.com/users/sign_up
All other courses aside from Child Care Resource & Referral courses, or the Responsible Adult course can still be accessed on YMCA Ignite.
If your account was transferred from YMCA Ignite to YMCA BC Learn, you will have received an email to verify your account and change your password.
Only learners who were enrolled in Responsible Adult or a Child Care & Resource Referral course, and had either started the course or completed it will have been automatically transferred.
Enrolling and Starting Your Course
Once you choose an online course or a bundle from the “All Courses” section, select the “Enroll for Free” button to enroll and then press the button that says "Start Learning."
Click on the course or bundle you'd like under to enroll in under "All Courses." Press the red button that says "Buy."
You will be led to the checkout page automatically. Please complete the section with your billing information and then press "Complete Purchase."
If you enrolled in the wrong course and would like to un-enroll, please contact [email protected]
Certificates
Go to your profile and then "My Account." On the left sidebar, click on certificates.
If you had a previous account on YMCA Ignite, were listed as a BC resident, and enrolled in either a Child Care Resource & Referral or Responsible Adult course, we've transferred your account and certificates to the YMCA BC Learn platform and you can access them here. If you were not transferred over, and would like to be, please contact [email protected]
Purchasing Courses as Gifts, or Enrolling Others in a Course
While checking out, you can check the box under billing info that says "This is a gift." Fill in their information (email, first and last name) and an email will be sent to them with the link to start the course. This is perfect if you're a parent and enrolling your kid.
When you get to the checkout screen, change the quantity you'd like to purchase. Once the payment process is completed, you will receive an enrollment link that can be shared with the number of people whom you purchased for (e.g., if you changed the quantity to 10, you can share the link with 10 people to enroll).
Your access as the purchaser will change to "Seat manager" and you can see how many seats are remaining (e.g., how many more people you can share the enrollment link with) as well as analytics on learners' progress.
Refund Policy
You may request a refund within 14 days of purchasing the course, provided that you have not completed more than 20% of the course content.
To request a refund, please contact our support team ([email protected]) with your purchase details and reason for the refund request. Please allow up to 7 business days for the refund to be processed once approved.
Refunds will not be granted if more than 20% of the course content has been accessed or if the request is made after the 14-day period.
